A Roadmap for the Improvement of Digital Accessibility — Navigating the Evolving Landscape

Digital accessibility makes a difference. It highlights your commitment to making information accessible and digestible for all students, as well as your faculty, staff, and alumni. Every part of your website, each piece of your application process, your recruitment and retention initiatives, and all other opportunities for digital engagement must guarantee universal access for all.

In this session, we will outline a roadmap that higher education institutions can use to achieve digital accessibility in the spaces where you interact with your prospective and current student populations. We will begin with a better understanding of what it means to be digitally accessible and how the landscape is constantly evolving in higher education. Then we will provide an overview of key gaps in digital accessibility as well as your responsibilities as an institution. Finally, we will provide recommendations, milestones, and metrics as a roadmap to guide your journey to improved digital accessibility.
