Earth to Gen Zers: building a student integrated marketing team that speaks their language

“What makes [insert your institution here] special?”

Who would you rather have answer this question?

  1. A marketing professional who knows all the right things to say about your institution’s experience.
  2. A current student who lives it every day.

Learn how you can deploy your insights as a member of option a to empower the authentic perspective and raw creativity of option 2.

This presentation will discuss how to build and manage a student-integrated marketing team that acts as a seamless extension of your communications staff. Drawing on examples and lessons from two different student-created Instagram Reels series, we will walk you through tactics for recruiting students from all corners of campus and turning them into a cohesive, collaborative team. We’ll discuss how to empower them as budding marketers who are well-versed in the University’s brand strategy and able to harness their own experiences into successful prospective student-facing content.

We will also address how to communicate to University leadership the value of the authentic student voice in your content strategy, and how to efficiently manage your team to increase your overall output of content without sacrificing other obligations or work/life balance. As an attendee, you will walk away equipped with actionable techniques for assembling and leveraging a student team of your own.
