Description

Concordia University’s Centre for Teaching and Learning conducted two pilot studies to enhance faculty members’ engagement with accessibility tools and checkers, reduce barriers for students, and increase learning access. This presentation will have two parts:

The first will present the two pilot studies, including purpose, design features, procedures, empirical findings, and recommendations.

The second part of the session will propose an institution-wide accessibility rollout plan and Key Performance Indicators.

  • Enhance faculty and staff engagement with accessibility tools and checkers.
  • Promote the alternative file formats to all students
  • Implement a SCULPT style awareness-building campaign across campus
  • Develop a multi-year accessibility implementation plan.
  • Embrace a partnership model of faculty and students in the accessibility implementation plan.
